I don't think Randolph Mason has played enough Division III teams to be eligible for the Playoffs. I'm pretty sure they aren't even being discussed tonight.

Seriously though, this is going to be a fun, fun Sunday... following a crazy, crazy Saturday.

The newly elected Commander in Chief has the right idea:

NEW YORK - It's not exactly at the top of his agenda, but President-elect Barack Obama says there should be a college football playoff to determine a [BCS] national champion. In fact, he knows exactly what he wants - an eight-team playoff.

In an interview with "60 Minutes," Obama addresses a subject college football fans have debated for many years, and says he will use his influence to create such a system.

"If you've got a bunch of teams who play throughout the season, and many of them have one loss or two losses, there's no clear decisive winner. We should be creating a playoff system," he tells CBS' Steve Kroft in an interview to be broadcast Sunday.

According to Obama's proposed system, eight teams would play over three rounds to settle the national champion.

"It would add three extra weeks to the season," he said at the conclusion of a wide-ranging interview. "You could trim back on the regular season. I don't know any serious fan of college football who has disagreed with me on this. So, I'm going to throw my weight around a little bit. I think it's the right thing to do."

Don't worry about the Grizzlies! They took care of their business with a dominating shutout of Hanover by the score of 34-0 in the wind and rain at Faught Stadium to retain the Victory Bell. The conditions were awful, but the Grizzlies held Hanover to 1 yard rushing for the entire game....1 yard!! My guess is with Depauw beating Wabash, Franlin likely gets a rematch with Trine.

pool c

hardin simmons
curry
wash and jeff
UW whitewater
Otterbein

Who gets last spot? I think that it is hartwick, rowan, or wooster. Depauw, Cal Luth, and Moravian have a claim with their play today. It is going to be interesting.

I'm very curious about how today's results will impact the NCAA regional rankings, and how those rankings might affect selections.

In the South region, where the 7th ranked team in the region was also considered on the bubble for the NCAA tourney, the 2nd, 5th, and 6th regionally ranked teams all lost. And so did the 8th ranked team. Does this help Washington & Jefferson *and* Salisbury?

In the East region, the 1st, 3rd, and 5th ranked teams all lost, which may not represent that huge of a shake up when all is told, considering most folks here seemed to believe the #3 team was on the bubble before any games were played today.

Speaking of two loss teams, what about DePauw who has a dominant win against a (former) top-five opponent?

But two one-point wins over two-win teams do yell crock!

If a two loss team makes it shouldn't it be Cal Lu whose two losses are to undefeated teams?
