Here's how you can help us out

You may have noticed the return of pop-up ads on our sites, D3hoops.com and D3football.com. We've never been a big fan of them ourselves and we surely understand why you as visitors would be less than thrilled.

Unfortunately, it's part of the business these days. Sites from the Los Angeles Times to USA Today use pop-up ads to support their free content sites, and since we are not willing to charge you, the consumer, for the fruits of our hard work, we have to generate revenue somehow.

When times were good we were able build a new site (D3football.com) from the ground up, and staff it with all sorts of writers and editors. But after the dot-com crash in the spring of 2000, Internet ad sales and rates plummeted, so that we generate less than one-third the revenue on more than twice the traffic. And more traffic means higher costs for us.

In short, the service cutbacks are probably here to stay, and so are the pop-up ads. But you can help us stay afloat, and help us minimize or even eliminate the pop-up windows by making a donation, in any amount.
