D-III trio feel Arena title rush Otterbein alumnus Matt D'Orazio, UW-La Crosse's Jeremy Unertl and Benedictine's Bob McMillen led the Chicago Rush to the Arena Football League title Sunday with a 69-61 win against the Orlando Predators in ArenaBowl XX. The three are the Division III alumni on the Rush roster. D'Orazio was named the offensive player of the game, while McMillen was the ironman of the game. D'Orazio completed 26 of 36 passes for 250 yards and six touchdowns, while running for two more. D'Orazio finished his first season with the Rush after spending 2005 with the Columbus Destroyers. Unertl, a third-team D3football.com All-America selection in 2001, led the Rush during the regular season with 77 stops (66 solo) and had nine interceptions. He picked off two more passes during the Rush's run to the ArenaBowl. The Predators had no Division III alumni on their roster. The Rush entered the playoffs at 7-9 but won three consecutive road playoff games to reach the ArenaBowl. | |
