Season begins with 11 in league
With newcomers Fred Jackson and Michael Allan making an NFL roster for the first time, the number of Division III players on NFL rosters has grown to eight.

They are as follows:

Arizona: Jerheme Urban, WR, Trinity (Texas)
Buffalo: Fred Jackson, RB, Coe
Denver: Nate Jackson, WR, Menlo
Detroit: Tony Beckham, CB, UW-Stout
Houston: Matt Turk, P, UW-Whitewater
Kansas City: Michael Allan, TE, Whitworth
Pittsburgh: Clint Kriewaldt, LB, UW-Stevens Point
Washington: London Fletcher, LB, John Carroll

Three players were signed to practice squads, all with teams with whom they participated in training camp. Ohio Northern's Jason Trusnik is with the New York Jets as a linebacker; UW-Whitewater receiver Derek Stanley is with the St. Louis Rams, who drafted him in the seventh round in 2007; and Byron Westbrook, a Salisbury cornerback, is with the Redskins.
