Could UMHB hang with Mount?
ATN's take

There were the four games between ranked teams on Saturday, but even more upsets claimed teams from the Top 25. When Wartburg, Trinity (Texas) and Baldwin-Wallace fell, what happened to their postseason chances?

Keith McMillan got a chance to see Mary Hardin-Baylor play this weekend as well (thanks, McMurry Athletic Foundation). It's our first in-person view on the Crusaders this season. Do they have what it takes to challenge Mount Union? Does anyone, really? Get McMillan's expert opinion on the matter.

McMillan also tackles the subject of letdown games and we take a look at some of the unusual conference standings in this week's ATN podcast.

Statistical spotlight
Zac McKenzie and his fellow Crusader defenders have put up impressive numbers through five games.

Each Monday during the regular season we look at some of the key statistical performances from the weekend in Division III football, highlighting one per region.

Capital held its third opponent this season to negative rushing yards, limiting John Carroll to minus-9 on the ground. For the season, Capital has allowed only 63 total yards rushing (12.6 per game, 0.4 yards –- about 15 inches -- per rush). Sam Jacobs and Zac McKenzie each had two sacks as the team totaled nine in the 37-13 win.

Matthew Mintz set Cortland's school record by hitting all five of his extra points, giving him 69 consecutive extra points made, breaking the school’s record. Although he missed his only field goal attempt -- from 44 yards late in a 35-14 win against Kean -- Mintz put two kickoffs into the end zone for touchbacks and another out the back of the end zone. Two other kickoffs landed at the 2 and 3.

Defensive back Bryan Furr came up with two interceptions in the Wasps red zone as Emory and Henry knocked off Hampden-Sydney 29-19. He also forced a third turnover of sorts, as he recorded a tackle for loss on a fourth down play. Furr recorded seven total tackles and 94 yards in interception returns in the win.

Garrett Adamson led Augsburg with 17 tackles (nine solo) and had the game-clinching interception at the Augsburg 1-yard line with 50 seconds left in the fourth quarter, as Augsburg claimed a 14-13 nonconference win at No. 11 Wartburg on Saturday. The interception was Adamson's third of the season.
