Glory days Around the Nation This weekend is the last hurrah for many seniors across Division III, as well as parents, coaches, administrators, fans, etc. For some, there's a conference title on the line. For some, a pair of shoes or a bell or a musket or some mythical old funky knickers. For others, it's just another game before the playoffs. When a rivalry's at stake, it almost doesn't matter what else is on the line. But an automatic bid to the playoffs can certainly raise the stakes up a notch or three. Keith McMillan played in one of the top rivalries in Division III, one which will have an extra title go to the winner. How does a rivalry get passed down from senior to freshman and through the generations? More, including how an impartial columnist separates himself from the alumnus and fan inside, in this week's Around the Nation. Plus, it's Around the Nation's annual tribute to the senior class, a look at the top rivalries, some thoughts about why ESPN GameDay is visiting one of them and more. | |
