Best QB in D-III?

All he did was complete 70 percent of his passes last year and lead his team to the playoffs. And knock the Midwest Conference schedule if you wish, but Alex Tanney completed 69 percent of his passes for 361 yards and no interceptions in a home playoff game against St. Thomas.

So on a team where we name just two quarterbacks out of 239 teams, Monmouth senior Alex Tanney is the first on the list. Announcing, the 2010 D3football.com Preseason All-America team.

Although the team is primarily seniors, there are three surprising sophomores on the list as well, with the top two players at each position heading into the 2010 season.

It's the first of our preseason awards, which will be followed in early August by the preseason D3football.com Top 25 poll.

Players were selected primarily from last year's All-Region nominations, though we considered additional players as well. It's a who's-who of who's coming back for the upcoming Division III football season.
