Fulton, Mo. - The Westminster College passing offense is fifth nationally among NCAA Division III football playing institutions, according to this week's statistics. The Blue Jay offense gained 371 yards through the air in a 20-17 season-opening win over Rhodes College this past Saturday, which was the fifth most in the nation and the top performance in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. In total offense, Westminster is 23rd nationally (447 yards a game) and second in the UMAC.

Individually, junior receiver Carl Givens (Chesterfield, Mo./Chaminade) is second nationally in receiving yards a game (193 yards a game) which is first in the UMAC, senior quarterback Tyson Kankolenski (O'Fallon, Mo./Fort Zumwalt West) is fifth nationally in total offense (374 yards a game), and senior kicker Jake Hilton (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood) is tied for fifth nationally in field goals (2.00 a game) which is tops in the UMAC.
