BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a breakout 2010 campaign, Lindy's Sports College Football Preview has selected junior WR Adam Kniffin (Salem, Ore./Sprague HS) as a 2011 preseason First Team All-American.
Last year, Kniffin spearheaded a Logger offense that finished with the sixth-best passing game in the NCAA Division III.
"It is a terrific honor for all of Adam's hard work last year to be recognized after leading the conference in scoring," said head coach Jeff Thomas. "I think Adam would agree that this is more of a team honor and that he looks forward to helping our team accomplish more goals this year."
In addition to leading the conference in three categories, Kniffin also ranked among the top-10 in Division III in two categories. His 10.33 receptions per game ranked second in the nation while his 11.33 points per game ranked fifth. He also set school records with 17 touchdown receptions and 92 catches in 2010.
The standout receiver tallied 911 receiving yards in 2010 for an average of 101.22 yards per game, which also led the NWC and ranked 26th in the nation. He earned First Team All-NWC honors and First Team All-West Region honors from D3football.com.
Kniffin is one of two NWC players honored on Lindy's All-America team. Linfield S Drew Fisher was also named to the First Team.
The Loggers kick off their season on Sep. 10 when they host Occidental at 1 p.m. in Baker Stadium.
