DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College football team recently spent a day to complete several service projects in and around the Defiance County area. The squad continued its tradition of using the day of community service to open its 2011 preseason camp.

This year's projects included 750 man hours of site work at Kid's Creation playground, various other Defiance city parks and the Defiance County fairgrounds in Hicksville. The Jackets also sorted and checked Christmas lights for the city of Defiance.

The day of service was nothing out of the ordinary for Defiance College student-athletes, as throughout the 2010-2011 academic year, the DC athletics program contributed nearly 3,000 hours of service.
