Western New England's Bryce Brown and Nolan Rickard earn weekly NEFC awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Western New England senior quarterback Bryce Brown (Guilford, CT) and junior linebacker Nolan Rickard (Southington, CT) received awards from the New England Football Conference on Sunday (Sept. 4).

Brown was selected the NEFC Offensive Player-of-the-Week after compiling 393 total yards and accounting for all four touchdowns in a 28-24 season-opening victory over Norwich.

He completed 17-of-23 passes for 248 yards and two TD's (68, 33 yards), and rushed for 145 yards on 16 carries (9.1 avg.) with a pair of TD's (12, 3 yards). His three-yard run with 1:43 remaining proved to be the game-winner.

Rickard recorded a team best 11 tackles (five solo) with a sack to make the weekly NEFC honor roll.
