Bryce Brown (Guilford, CT) and junior linebacker
Nolan Rickard (Southington, CT) received awards from the New England Football Conference on Sunday (Sept. 4).
Brown was selected the NEFC Offensive Player-of-the-Week after compiling 393 total yards and accounting for all four touchdowns in a 28-24 season-opening victory over Norwich.
He completed 17-of-23 passes for 248 yards and two TD's (68, 33 yards), and rushed for 145 yards on 16 carries (9.1 avg.) with a pair of TD's (12, 3 yards). His three-yard run with 1:43 remaining proved to be the game-winner.
Rickard recorded a team best 11 tackles (five solo) with a sack to make the weekly NEFC honor roll.
