BALTIMORE, MD -- The Johns Hopkins football team, which is currently 5-0 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference, is ranked eighth in this week's ECAC Lambert Meadowlands Division III Football Poll. The poll ranks teams in the East in each of the four divisions of the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III). The Lambert Trophy is presented to the top team in each division at the annual Eastern College Football Awards Banquet, which is held at the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

This is the first ECAC Lambert Meadowlands Poll of the 2011 season and Kean (NJ) tops the poll with 252 points on the strength of two first-place votes. Wesley (248 points), Thomas More (240), Montclair State (220) and Salisbury (192) round out the top five. Wesley and Thomas More also picked up two first-place votes. Johns Hopkins accumulated 100 points to earn the number eight spot and the Blue Jays are the only Centennial Conference team in the top 10 or among the eight teams listed as receiving votes.

Johns Hopkins, which will put its 10-game winning streak on the line when it hosts Dickinson on Friday, October 14, is currently ranked 15th in the AFCA Division III Poll and 20th in the d3football.com Poll.
