Ding Noted by National Place-Kicking Honor

NORTHFIELD, VT. – Norwich University senior place-kicker/punter Long Ding (Qing Dao, China) was recognized Nov. 1 by the Fred Mitchell Award for excellence on and off the field in the month of October.

Ding, one of 36 place-kickers from all divisions noted, currently ranks second for the Cadets in scoring with 59 points from 9 of 12 FG's and 32 of 33 PAT's of which 41 were scored in October (7 of 8 FG's and 20 of 21 PAT's). He also scored 10 points in a 40-21 win over Husson on October 8 and is currently averaging 47 yards on 52 kickoffs.

The recipient of the Fred Mitchell Award will be announced in mid-December based on performance on the field and in the community.
