MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Sophomore Dylan Rushe (Palos Verdes, Calif.) was recognized for the second year in-a-row by D3Football.com as an All-East Region Kicker after being named to the First Team for his efforts during the 2011 season.
Rushe, the nation's second-leading placekicker with an average of 1.55 field goals per game, helped the Gulls to a 10-1 record and their first ever ECAC bowl game appearance and victory. The Blue and Green defeated Mount Ida 31-22 in the North Atlantic Bowl back on November 19th.
Rushe connected on 17-of-26 field goal attempts and 51-of-53 extra point attempts for a total of 102 points to lead all Endicott players. The sophomore also ranked second in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) and 28th in the nation in scoring.
Four of his 17 field goal makes were from 40+ yards including his season-high and career-high of 55 yards set against Curry on October 1st.
In the 2011 season opener against Framingham State, Rushe nailed all four of his field goal attempts and three PATs for a season-high of 15 points.
Rushe also handled all the kickoff and punting duties for the Gulls. He averaged 53.8 yards per kickoff with seven touchbacks and 36.3 yards per punt with 15 falling inside the opponent's 20-yard line.
