FLORENCE, Italy – With the Apennine Mountains in the background, members of the Western New England football team pose for a group picture as the sun sets Thursday night (Mar. 22) in the town considered the cradle of Italian Renaissance.
The Golden Bears had a busy and exciting day touring the Piazza della Signoria, its Palazzo Vecchio, and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore. The Palazzo Vecchio is a massive, Romanesque, fortress-palace considered to be among the most impressive town halls in Tuscany.
Western New England will play an exhibition game against the Italian National Team on Sunday (Mar. 25) in Rome before heading home the following day.

Special thanks to Mike Garry, the father of junior linebacker Colin Garry for taking the picture, and to coach Keith Emery for sending it along it.
