ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Salisbury University defensive lineman Joey Buckley has been named Empire 8 Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Buckley posted the game-winning touchdown in the Sea Gulls' 20-7 win at Buffalo State College to open Empire 8 play. Buckley blocked Buffalo State punter Joe Going's second-quarter kick on the Bengals 3-yard line and ran it into the end zone for a 13-0 lead.

Buckley is Salisbury's second Empire 8 Special Team Player of the Week as sophomore nose guard Tommy Hawks picked up the honor on Sept. 4.

No. 10 Salisbury (3-1, 1-0) travels to No. 8 St. John Fisher College (4-0, 1-0) to face the Cardinals at noon this Saturday.
