CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Wesley College's Matt Bundy has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. This is the first football weekly honor that Bundy has received.
A sophomore wide receiver from Media, Pa., Bundy had a career day with five catches for 103 yards and his first career touchdown in Wesley's 30-13 victory at Menlo College on October 20. He also took a reverse for 15 yards. It was also Bundy's first 100-yard receiving game.
For the season, Bundy has hauled in ten passes for 176 yards and a touchdown.
One of the fastest athletes in all of Division III, Bundy was an NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field All-American in 2012 after playing fourth in the 110m hurdles at the National Championships in Claremont, Calif. He was also the ECAC Champion in the event last spring and was named the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Bundy and the fifth-ranked Wolverines (6-1) return to action on Saturday, October 27, when they travel to take on No. 16 Huntingdon in a 2 pm start. The Hawks (5-1) are the fifth-straight ranked Division III team that Wesley has faced this season.
