JHU 5th In Lambert Meadowlands Poll

BALTIMORE, MD –- The Johns Hopkins football team, 7-0 overall and 6-0 in the Centennial Conference, is ranked fifth in this week's ECAC Lambert Meadowlands Division III Football Poll presented by Field Turf Tarkett. The poll ranks teams in the East in each of the four divisions of the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III). The Lambert Trophy is presented to the top team in each division at the annual Eastern College Football Awards Banquet, which is held at the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

This is the second ECAC Lambert Meadowlands Poll of the 2012 season and Hobart (7-0) tops the poll. The Statesmen are followed by Salisbury (6-1), Wesley (6-1), Widener (7-0) and Johns Hopkins. The Blue Jays are the only Centennial Conference team in the top 10. Franklin & Marshall, which will host Johns Hopkins on November 3, is among six teams listed as receiving votes.

Johns Hopkins, which will put its 21-game regular season winning streak on the line when it travels to Ursinus (5-2) on Saturday, October 27, is currently ranked 10th in the AFCA Division III Poll and 15th in the d3football.com Poll. JHU's 21-game regular season winning streak is the sixth-longest active streak in all divisions of college football (NCAA).
