Wesley’s Kapepula Honored By D3football.com

DOVER, Del. – Wesley College's Sosthene Kapepula has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, it was announced by the website late Monday evening.  This is the first time that Kapepula has been honored by the website.

A sophomore linebacker from Olney, Md., Kapepula led a stingy Wolverines defense in a 31-21 victory at No. 16 Huntingdon on October 27. As fifth-ranked Wesley (7-1) held the Hawks to just 24 yards rushing and four turnovers, Kapepula recorded seven tackles, one of which went for a loss, and a fumble recovery. The Hawks came into the game averaging 43.3 points per contest.

Through eight games this season, Kapepula leads the team with 79 tackles, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.  The 2011 ECAC Defensive Rookie of the Year, Kapepula also has 4.5 tackles for loss.

Kapepula and the Wolverines close out the regular season when they host the Apprentice School on Saturday, November 3, in a 1 pm kickoff.  Wesley will honor all of its seniors prior to the game.
