It was announced earlier this month that the University of Redlands football team landed among the Lindy's Sports Annuals Division III Preseason Top 25, coming in at No. 23 for the 2013 campaign. The Bulldogs are the only program from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) to be included on the prestigious list.
Redlands looks forward to building upon last year's 6-3 showing with this season's challenging yet exciting schedule. Before battling it out amongst a highly-competitive conference, the Bulldogs face Lindy's No. 5 pick, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX), on opening day, and then head to 15th-ranked Pacific Lutheran University (WA) on September 21.
Redlands anticipates great contributions from its decorated veterans, with multiple All-SCIAC performers leading the charge in their final seasons. Two-time All-American and First-Team All-Conference kicker Kevin Grady (Seattle, WA) returns with great momentum from a year ago, while defensive lineman Steven Locke Jr. (Barstow, CA) enters the campaign as an All-Conference First-Team selection. In addition, All-SCIAC defensive standouts Daniel Kane (Covina, CA) and Brandon Morris (Mission Viejo, CA), as well as offensive honorees Taylor Irwin (Rocklin, CA) and Daryl Andersen (Grand Terrace, CA), hold high expectations for the Maroon and Gray's success in 2013.
With the help of his talented staff of assistant coaches, Head Coach Mike Maynard looks forward to guiding the squad in his 26th year at the helm of the Bulldogs.
