More news about: Manchester

Manchester University's home football game against Rose-Hulman Saturday, Sept. 29, is part of a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference-wide recognition of the Samaritan's Feet initiative.

Samaritans Feet is a non-profit organization founded by Emmanuel Ohonme in 2003. Their mission is to equip ten million impoverished children with ten million shoes in ten years. Since beginning in 2003, Samaritan's Feet has helped 4 million people in 60 countries. They also have partnerships with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and SAAC (Student Athlete Advisory Committee).

The Spartans are selling wristbands for $10 each to raise money in support of the cause. According to head coach Shannon Griffith, the wristbands are on sale now through Thursday afternoon, Sept. 26. Interested individuals can contact team members or may email Coach Griffith at wsgriffith@manchester.edu for more information.
