SCHENECTADY, NY -- The Union College football team, coming off possibly the best offensive and defensive balanced effort of the season, looks for a third straight victory this week. Union will face Western New England College for the first time on the gridiron, and game time in Springfield, MA is 1 p.m. at Golden Bear Stadium.

Union had an impressive performance for the Homecoming crowd last week, with a 35-6 win over WPI. The defense has allowed just six points in the second half over the last two games (the other six points came on a punt return). Union is now ranked 15th in total defense out of 242 NCAA Division III schools.

Western New England has a high powered offense with an average of 34 points per game. This will be the first of two straight road contests for the Dutchmen, and the final non-league game of 2013. Union is at the University of Rochester on October 26.
