BEVERLY, Mass. - The NEFC released their week 10 award winners and Gulls senior kicker and punter Dylan Rushe (Palos Verdes, Calif.) was tabbed as Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time this season for his standout efforts in a 38-21 Endicott win over Western New England.
Rushe made a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter to increase Endicott's lead over Western New England to 31-14 and converted all five of his extra point attempts, but it was his precision in the punting game that helped squash any hopes for a Golden Bear comeback in Saturday's game. Rushe averaged 40.7 yards on nine punts with six of those punts landing inside the Western New England 20-yard line, two of which were down on the one to pin the opposition deep inside their own territory.
Rushe on the season now averages 41.4 yards per punt attempt with 14 of his 34 punts landing inside the opposiing 20-yard line.
The NEFC also recognized junior quarterback Drew Frenette (New Bedford, Mass.) and senior linebacker Nick Kozlowski (Beverly, Mass.) as members on their weekly Honor Roll. Frenette threw three touchdowns and passed for over 300 yards while Kozlowski nearly broke Endicott's single game tackle record as he tied it with 19 tackles, 11 of which were solo and one which was for a loss of yardage.
Endicott improved to 7-2 (6-0 NEFC) with Saturday's win over Western New England and are now ready for week 11's NEFC Championship determining game against Salve Regina (7-2, 6-0 NEFC). The Gulls and Seahawks are set to square off on Saturday, November 16th at Endicott Stadium with a 1:00 pm kickoff.
