College Football: Damaschke, Sebald Top NACC Football Awards
Concordia Wisconsin's Austin Damaschke has been named the Offensive Player of the Year, and Wisconsin Lutheran's Luke Sebald the Defensive Players of the Year as the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference football awards have been announced for the 2013 season. All awards are voted on by the league's head coaches. Benedictine's Jarrett Lecas was named Freshman of the Year, while Concordia Wisconsin's Greg Etter was voted Coach of the Year by his peers. Damaschke (Bristol, Wis.), making his first appearance on the All-NACC First Team after a Second Team spot last season, led the NACC with 3,171 passing yards, 24 touchdowns (7 interceptions) and a completion percentage of 62.8. In addition to his 288 passing yards per game, the junior quarterback also rushed for over 61 yards a game and 12 touchdowns. Sebald (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) was the league leader in sacks with 8.5. The junior defensive lineman was also 20th in the NACC with 5.8 tackles per game. Lecas (Frankfort, Ill.), a rookie defensive back, led the conference with five interceptions and had the third most tackles with 78. Etter led the Falcons (8-3, 6-0 NACC) to an undefeated run though conference play and the Falcons' first title in the NACC.
