Benedict Receives Honor From D3Football.com

D3football.com has named junior Matthew Benedict (Eden, N.Y.) to its national team of the week. The safety made 19 total tackles as Middlebury defeated Trinity for the third time in the last four meetings in Vermont. Benedict made 10 solo stops, including one tackle for lost yardage. The reigning NESCAC Defensive Player of the Week made eight of his stops during the crucial fourth quarter as the teams traded leads.

Middlebury (5-1) currently ranked third in New England, will play its final home game this Saturday when they host Hamilton at 1:00 p.m.
