July 9, 2017 New York conferences start postseason bowl The Empire 8 and Liberty League won't be sending their top at-large teams to the ECAC postseason bowl games, rather, they'll square off in a New York State bowl game this November.

A former Gagliardi Trophy finalist and Division III offensive coordinator, Swanstrom was most recently quarterbacks coach and recruiting coordinator at Penn.

November 5, 2016 Ithaca Completes Perfect Home Season With 7-0 Shutout of Buffalo State ITHACA, N.Y. – For the first time since 1999, the Ithaca College football team posted back-to-back shutout victories at Butterfield Stadium with a 7-0 triumph over Buffalo State College on Saturday, in what was head coach Mike Welch’s final home contest of his hall of fame career. Saturday also marked Senior Day, as the parents of 22 seniors were honored at halftime, and the underclass parents were recognized before the game as part of Family Weekend.
October 22, 2016 Defense Forces Five Turnovers as Ithaca Shuts Out Morrisville, 34-0 ITHACA, N.Y. – In less than ideal playing conditions – low 40s with rain and constant wind – at Butterfield Stadium on Saturday, the Ithaca College football team shutout Morrisville State College, 34-0, behind five turnovers by the defense. It is the first shutout by Ithaca since 2013 (Frostburg State, 23-0), and the largest margin of victory in a shutout since 2009 (St. Lawrence, 45-0). With the win, Ithaca is now 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the Empire 8 Conference.
