Offense QB Ed Collins, Jr., Montclair State
Scored the winning touchdown with 2:47 to go on a 1-yard sneak as Montclair
State claimed its second consecutive NJAC title with a 17-13 victory against
Rowan. Collins engineered a 11-play, 67-yard drive and completed two key
third-down conversions to keep the drive alive. he was 18-for-36 for 291
yards.
RB Dan Boyle, Jr., Catholic
Ran for a career-high 231 yards on 30 carries in Catholic's 46-33 loss
to Bridgewater, scoring two touchdowns and breaking off a long run for
54 yards that set up another Catholic U. score. Boyle became the first
Cardinal back to run for 1,500 yards in a season, while also catching
four passes out of the backfield.
RB Dontrell Harriel, Fr., Greenville
Dontrell ended his regular season with a impressive 177-yard, four-touchdown
day. His 10.1 yards per carry is third all-time for a single game in Greenville
history. His first carry of the day went 34 yards for a touchdown. He
also had touchdown runs of 45, 2 and 3 yards.
RB Luke Bundgaard, Fr., UW-Stout
Budgaard rushed for 144 yards on 27 carries as UW-Stout defeated Minnesota-Duluth
17-15 at the Metrodome in the final game of the Border Battle. On Bundgaard's
first carry of the game, he rushed for 17 yards, and in the process, broke
the school's single-season rushing record of 1,105 yards, set by Steve
Burr in 1978.
WR Jim Jones, Jr. Widener
Jim Jones had another phenomenal day in leading Widener to a perfect 9-0
conference record for the first time since 1994. He caught 10 passes for
243 yards, his second-best game total, and two catches were touchdowns
of 60 and 10 yards.
TE Brian Meier, Sr., Greenville
Bryan had a senior day sendoff to remember, with nine catches for 127
yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a two-point conversion and kicked
two extra points.
Defense DL Justin Harris, Sr., Alma
Credited with eight tackles, seven of them for lost yardage, in the Scots'
28-13 victory against Olivet. He had three quarterback sacks and four
other tackles for lost yardage totaling minus-47 yards. He also contributed
to the offense in his last game as a Scot, scoring on a 2-yard run.
DL Jason Hazlewood, Sr., Washington & Jefferson
Registered six tackles, including a pair of sacks, in the Presidents'
42-21 victory at Buffalo State. One sack went for minus-20 yards on the
first play of the fourth quarter.
DL Jeff Hazuga, Sr., UW-Stout
Jeff Hazuga was literally all over the field as he racked up up 11 tackles,
two solo, and was in on six tackles for losses of 20 yards, and recorded
2½ sacks for 15 yards.
LB Ron Broking, Jr., Montclair State
Tied an MSU single-game record with three interceptions as Montclair State
captured the NJAC title with a 17-13 win against Rowan. Broking returned
an interception 26 yards for a touchdown giving the Red Hawks a 10-6 lead
in the third quarter.
LB Drew Johnson, Jr., Colby
Johnson in his final game led the Colby defense with two sacks and 11
tackles on the day. The defense limited Bowdoin to 119 total yards on
the day. Drew, a senior and co-captain helped turn the program around,
going from 0-8 to 7-1 and tri-NESCAC champs.
LB J.D. Leman, Sr., Wheaton (Ill.)
Had 12 tackles, a pass broken up, two tackles for losses totaling 8 yards
and one sack on the day as the Thunder gained a share of the CCIW title
by defeating Augustana.
LB Chris Seguinot, Sr., Frostburg State
Seguinot recorded a game-high 21 tackles, including 12 solo and two for
loss, and a fumble recovery in the Bobcats' 18-8 loss to Salisbury State.
DB Devin Pierce, So., Pacific Lutheran
Had three second-half interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns,
to lead the Lutes to a win at Puget Sound.
DB Brian Portilia, Jr., UW-La Crosse
Portilia intercepted two passes in UW-La Crosse’s win against Northern
State. It gave him nine interceptions for the season and 20 in his career.
Portilia is now tied for the school’s career lead in interceptions with
20. He also recorded five tackles and three pass breakups. It was also
the third game this season that Portilia has had two interceptions.
DB Lyle Hemphill Jr., Ursinus
Hemphill picked off three passes to lead an Ursinus defense that forced
nine Dickinson turnovers. He also broke up three passes and had six tackles
on the day.
DB John Scanlan, Sr., Lycoming
The senior had 13 tackles on the day and an interception in his final
game for Lycoming.
Special Teams K Chris Lyons, Fr., Wesley
Lyons was 3-for-3 on extra points and made two field goals, including
the game-winner in overtime, as the Wolverines reached the NCAA playoffs
thanks to a 27-24 win.
P Wilson Hillman, Sr., Mississippi College
Hillman punted eight times for 322 yards, with a long of 59, in a 35-21
win against Louisiana College. Four of his kicks went inside the 20.
RET Jamal Robertson, Sr., Ohio Northern
Robertson returned a kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown in a 68-27 win against
Marietta. On the day, Robertson set single game school records in
rushing yards (307), all-purpose yards (401), touchdowns (seven total),
rushing touchdowns (six) and points (42).
