Offense QB Ryan Silvia, Jr., Springfield
Silvia carried 20 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns, and threw a
46-yard pass for another score as Springfield routed Ithaca 51-22.
LT John Roth, LG Dave Eberle, C Jonathan Yost, RG Ross Sandefer, RT
Jaime Waymouth, DePauw
DePauw rushed for a season-high 253 yards and was just one yard away from
equaling the season high of 506 total yards against a Chicago defense
that was allowing 120 rushing yards and 291.7 total.
RB Duane Miller, Sr., Menlo
Miller broke his own school record with 198 yards in a 50-19 win against
Whittier. The old mark of 186, which Miller set last year against Pacific
Lutheran, was broken on 25 carries. He averaged 7.9 yards per run and
scored three touchdowns.
RB Andrew Mocadlo, Sr., UW-La Crosse
Mocadlo recorded his second 100-yard rushing game of the season in UW-La
Crosse's 24-21 win against UW-Stevens Point. He had a season-high 141
yards on 24 carries against the Pointers, which entered the contest allowing
a conference-low 61.0 yards per game on the ground.
RB Omar Muhammad, Fr., Wesley
Filling in for injured starter Ken Busch, Muhammad had a career day as
he rushed for 205 yards on 17 carries (12.1 avg.), with two scores.
WR Blake Elliott, Sr., St. John's
Elliott had 11 catches for 113 yards and one touchdown in a 35-13 win
over Gustavus Adolphus. Elliott's 11-yard touchdown reception late in
the second quarter gave SJU a 28-6 lead. In total, Elliott had 327 all-purpose
yards in the game including a 90 yard kickoff return to open the game.
WR Flynn Cochran, Sr., RPI
Flynn helped Rensselaer defeat UCAA foe Rochester 47-26 with 12 catches
for 213 yards and two touchdowns.
Defense DL Sean Christian, Sr., Augustana
Christian had eight total tackles (five solo and three assists) and was
credited with five tackles for loss (12 yards) and a pair of quarterback
sacks (5 yards). He also had a pass deflection in a 27-7 win against North
Central.
DL Mike Lewis, So., Adrian
Lewis recorded four quarterback sacks on the afternoon. Throughout the
majority of the game AC used a three-man rush against Wisconsin Lutheran
and recorded six sacks. Lewis now has 10½ sacks on the year in
four games.
DL Roger Sutterfield, So., East Texas Baptist
Sutterfield had a safety and a fumble return for a touchdown in the first
half of Saturday's 33-0 win at Austin College. Sutterfield finished with
five tackles and two sacks on the day as well.
DL David McCall, So., Muhlenberg
McCall made five tackles vs. Franklin & Marshall and all were behind
the line of scrimmage. He tied a school regular-season game record with
three sacks.
LB Mike Fox, Jr., St. John Fisher
Fox recorded nine tackles, seven solo, with two passes broken up and a
73-yard interception return in a 44-18 win against Hartwick.
LB Steve Rogers, Sr., Wilkes
Rogers led a defensive effort that limited the MAC's top-scoring offense
to just one offensive touchdown in a 16-14 Wilkes win. The senior linebacker
came up with nine tackles, including two solos. He also had two tackles
for loss, one sack, three pass breakups and an interception which set
up a Wilkes touchdown. The Colonels held Widener to 169 yards in total
offense.
LB Joe Giusti, So., McDaniel
Giusti's forced fumble thwarted Ursinus' drive at the 30-yard line on
the Bears' second possession. Giusti was making his first start of the
season in place of the injured Omar Phillip. He finished with seven tackles
(all solo), two for loss and a sack.
DB John Ortega, Sr., Centre
Ortega had 11 solo tackles and four assists in the Colonels' 21-16 win
at Sewanee. He chipped in with two tackles for loss of 3 yards as Sewanee
was held to 197 yards of total offense.
DB Jimmy Holzman, So., Lebanon Valley
Holzman recorded three interceptions, five tackles and five pass deflections
in Lebanon Valley’s 36-24 loss to Delaware Valley. His picks were
the first three of his collegiate career.
DB Jeff Inman, Jr., Hampden-Sydney
Inman recorded seven tackles on the afternoon, including a sack and two
tackles for a loss. His biggest moment came on special teams as he blocked
a Bridgewater punt, forcing the ball into the end zone where it was recovered
for a Tiger touchdown early in the second quarter.
DB Mark Tilki, Sr., Tufts
For the second consecutive week, Tilki brought an interception back for
a touchdown to help the Jumbos post a victory. His 51-yard return against
Bowdoin at 8:21 of the second quarter put Tufts in charge with a 16-0
lead. He also had five tackles (four solo), including one for a loss,
and two passes broken up.
Special teams K Mike Kinateder, So., UW-Oshkosh
Kinateder accounted for nine points in UW-Oshkosh's 15-7 upset of WIAC
preseason favorite UW-Stout on Oct. 4. He made all three of his field
goal attempts in the contest as he successfully converted on tries of
25 and 30 yards in the second quarter and 26 yards in the fourth quarter.
He also caught one pass in the game for 7 yards.
P Justin Moore, Fr., Howard Payne
Moore came to school to become an athletic trainer but stepped in when
the Jackets needed a punter. He punted for an average of 49.5 yards against
Sul Ross State, including a 55- and a 53-yard punt. The 53-yarder stuck
Sul Ross at its 3 yard line.
RET Nathan Chandler, So., Millikin
Led team with 137 yards total, 133 on kickoff returns. His kickoff return
for a TD proved to be the game-winner in a 21-17 win against Carthage
in the CCIW opener.
ST Gentry Parker, So., Averett
Gentry blocked three punts in Averett's 27-9 loss to Ferrum and also intercepted
a pass during an attempted two-point conversion.
