Offense

QB Chad Shade, Jr., Springfield

Shade threw for the fewest yards of any Division III starting quarterback in Week 1, but he rushed for 247 yards on 22 carries, averaging more than 11 yards per rush, to go along with six rushing touchdowns to lead Springfield to a 42-21 victory over crosstown rival Western New England.

OL Niccolas Falconeiri (LT), Austin White (LG), Michael Casey (C), Nicholas Spinale (RG), Zachary Tillson (RT), Bridgewater State

The Bears' offensive line paved the way for 454 yards of total offense in a 30-29 season-opening win vs. Buffalo State. The line helped junior running back Nick Santavicca rush for a career-high 200 yards and two touchdowns in his first collegiate start.

RB Lance Moise
Jr., Concordia-Chicago

Moise ran for 303 yards on 25 carries and scored twice in the Cougars' 36-10 win vs. Beloit. He got just four carries in the fourth quarter. 

RB Michael Mofor
Jr., Salisbury

Mofor turned 237 yards on 10 carries while also scoring two touchdowns in his first career start, a 48-14 win vs. Albright.

WR Alex Victor
Jr., Allegheny

Victor hauled in nine catches for a career-high 245 yards and scored two touchdowns, going for 65 and 70 yards, vs. RPI. He recorded either a first down or touchdown in six of his 10.

WR Mike Panzarino
Sr., FDU-Florham

Panzarino is off to a blistering start, catching 16 passes for 224 yards and four touchdowns. The Devils started the season with a 35-21 win vs. TCNJ.

TE Cole Spieker
Jr., UW-La Crosse

Spieker caught two passes for 71 yards with both resulting in touchdowns in a 52-21 win at Luther. He scored his third TD of the game on a blocked punt, returning it 43 yards.

Defense

DE Patrick O'Connell
Jr., Wheaton

O'Connell racked up three and a half tackles for loss as part of a Thunder defense which held Monmouth to 54 yards of offense in a 32-7 win. He added two quarterback hurries and a pass breakup.

DT Jared Bazley
So., Hendrix

Bazley recorded three sacks for a loss of 27 yards in a win against Lyon. He recorded five total tackles on the night, including three tackles for loss.

DT D'On Coofer
Jr., Rhodes

The Lynx defense held Illinois College to minus-17 rushing yards in their season opener with Coofer's nine total tackles, including three and a half for loss. Coofer's three sacks helped Rhodes earn their first shutout since 2014.

DE Mitchell Arendsen
So., Albion

Arendsen collect three tackles for loss, all of them sacks, among his five total tackles in the Britons' season opener. 

 

LB Derrick Jennings Jr.
Sr., UW-Oshkosh

Jennings intercepted three passes (all in UW-Oshkosh territory), blocked an extra point and added a sack and a half in a 20-9 win against the Red Men. He finished the contest with tackles overall. That score included a pick-six that ended the game.

LB Jack Reilly
Sr., Union

Reilly had two sacks for Union in the Dutchmen's 30-7 win over Husson. He had four tackles for loss totaling 21 yards and was second on the team with nine total tackles.

LB Zachary Blackiston
Fr., Heidelberg

In his first college game, Blackiston played a crucial role in a last-minute win vs. Olivet. He had five and a half tackles for loss and three sacks as part of his 16 tackles, seven solo.

 

CB Gary Anish
Jr., North Park

Anish picked off three passes in North Park's 28-13 win vs. Anderson, including a diving catch to pick off a pass in North Park territory with the Vikings leading 13-7. His last interception came in a two-score game in the fourth quarter, and North Park scored two plays later to go up 28-7.

S Ryan Wilson
Sr., FDU-Florham

Wilson picked off two passes in the Devils 35-21 win vs. TCNJ, the second and third interceptions of his career. The defensive back also recorded three tackles.

S Justin Banks
Sr., Emory & Henry

Banks finished the game with nine tackles, seven solo and an interception which he returned for 34 yards in a 45-29 win vs. Ferrum. It's the Wasps' first win vs. Ferrum in three seasons.

CB Daquan Pridget
So., Shenandoah

Pridget helped the Hornets to a 48-33 road win at Methodist with three interceptions. He set up a touchdown with a pick on the first play from scrimmage and picked off passes in the end zone and on the Shenandoah 8-yard line. He also had four tackles and a pass breakup.

Special teams

K Sandy Burks, Sr.
Hendrix

Burks was perfect on four extra points and three field goals, including a 44-yarder, which tied the school mark for longest field goal. He accounted for 13 points in a 37-27 win vs. Lyon.

P Joey Biel, Jr.
Monmouth

Biel averaged 40.0 yards per punt on a school-record 14 punts in a loss to No. 18 Wheaton. His day included a 77-yard bomb and four of the 14 landed inside the 20.

RET Jake Wood, Jr.
Nichols

Wood returned two kickoffs for TDs in a loss at Westfield State, accounting for both scores in a 25-14 loss. His first return went for 84 yards and came late in the second quarter, bringing the Bison to within five points. Later in the contest, he ripped off a 90-yard return for the team's second TD.

ST Cody Estep, Sr.
Centre

Estep blocked both of Hanover's extra point attempts in Centre's 28-18 victory over the Panthers. In addition to the blocked kicks, Estep also had a clutch kick return that put Centre at its own 44-yard line in the fourth quarter.
