Alma, Mich. - The Alma College football team swept the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week honors for the week of September 10, the league office announced today (Monday, Sept. 12).

Junior QB Dylan Zaborowski (Jackson, Mich./Michigan Center HS) was named the MIAA's Offensive Player of the Week, while junior DL Dustin Tripp (Byron Center, Mich./Hudsonville) was named Defensive Player of the Week. Sophomore K Jacob Plisko (Livonia, Mich./Livonia Stevenson) completed the set, receiving Special Teams Player of the Week accolades.

Zaborowski scored a school record-tying four touchdowns in the Scots' 31-20 win at Manchester, rushing for three scores and catching his first collegiate touchdown pass, a 35-yard reception from sophomore WR Essa Kellah (Grand Rapids, MIch./Godwin Heights) in the game's second quarter. Zaborowski finished with 103 yards on 20 carries for his second career 100-yard game and also completed 11 of his 31 passes for 172 yards.

Tripp posted six solo tackles as a member of the defensive line, including one sack, as the Alma defense limited the Spartans to 262 yards of total offense, including 80 yards rushing. Plisko was perfect in his four extra-point attempts and also converted a 19-yard field goal. In addition, he averaged 52.2 yards on his six kickoffs.

The Scots (1-1 overall, 0-0 MIAA) are in the midst of a four-week, three-game road trip and travel to Mequon, Wis., on Saturday, Sept. 17, to face Concordia University Wisconsin. The game is part of the MIAA-NACC Challenge Series, which pits schools from the MIAA against schools from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. (CT) at Tomasini Stadium on the campus of CUW.
