More news about: Johns Hopkins

LANCASTER, PA – For the second time this season, Johns Hopkins junior quarterback David Tammaro (Chantilly, VA/Chantilly) has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week.  Tammaro led the Blue Jays to their fourth consecutive win, a 42-12 victory at Franklin & Marshall, on Saturday.

Tammaro was 24-of-34 for 290 yards and two touchdowns and also rushed for a career-high 89 yards and another score to account for 379 yards of total offense.  The Blue Jays scored touchdowns on six of seven possessions from late in the first quarter through the middle of the third quarter to put the game away.  Tammaro's 290 passing yards push his school and Centennial Conference-record streak of consecutive 200-yard passing games to 16.

Including the game at F&M, Tammaro is now 138-of-207 (.667) on the year for 1,963 yards with 17 touchdowns against just three interceptions and has also rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns.  He ranks second in the nation in total passing yards, fifth in passing yards per game (327.2), 11th in touchdown passes, sixth in total offense per game (354.8), 19th in pass efficiency (170.5) and 20th in completion percentage.

Johns Hopkins (5-1, 4-1 Centennial) will return to action on October 20, when the Blue Jays travel to Gettysburg (1-5, 1-4 CC).
