Augsburg gained 347 of its 517 yards in the second half and rallied with five touchdowns in the final 25 minutes to defeat Hamline 42-38 and return The Hammer to Minneapolis.

After completing just 11 of 27 passes in the first half, Marcus Brumm was 24-for-38 in the second half, including leading a 96-yard drive capped by an 11-yard scoring run by Phil Putratz with 10:06 left in the game. After the Pipers turned the ball over on downs, the Auggies drove to take a 42-38 lead and intercepted the ball twice in the final two minutes to clinch the win. Full story and more Week 3 scores.

Salisbury drove up to Maine and ran away from Husson in an 84-7 pounding. The Sea Gulls threw just four passes on the day but had two rushers over 100 yards and a third with 98 in the win. Salisbury converted just four third downs, but it was the only third-down conversion attempts it had on the day.  On the opposite coast Lewis and Clark used the same strategy to beat Pomona-Pitzer 63-38.  The Pioneers threw eight passes all day but Keith Welch ran for 214 yards and Joevonte Mayes added 206 more.

St. John Fisher scored 28 straight points to turn a tie game against Rochester into a 49-21 romp in the Courage Bowl.  Cardinals quarterback Tim Bailey threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns in the victory.

Earlier in the day Utica moved to 3-0 for the first time in the young program's history and did it in surprisingly easy fashion by doubling up RPI 42-21.  The Pioneers have averaged 60 points per contest so far. Norwich had trouble beating Empire 8 teams when it was in the conference, but it did so today.  The Cadets are 3-0 thanks to a 42-17 win over Hartwick.

The downfall of the Christopher Newport program continued with a 33-30 loss to Frostburg State. The Captains are 0-3 to start the season, all against members of the soon-to-be-defunct Atlantic Coast Football Conference.

At the other end of the spectrum, Crown improved to 3-0 by edging Martin Luther 42-41.  McDaniel is 3-0 after beating Catholic 24-14.   Same goes for Springfield which rolled up 560 rushing yards in a 44-7 win at Wilkes.

Grove City won at Westminster (Pa.) for the first time since 1961, picking off three passes in the process of a 31-16 victory. Maryville outlasted LaGrange 20-17 in triple overtime.  Practicing at Mount Union didn't rub off on Anna Maria, as the second-year program lost at NAIA member Malone 69-0.
