Wesley survived a challenge from its archrival, as the No. 5 Wolverines got a 43-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass in the final minute to hold off Salisbury 30-27.

Steve Kodoussou was a non-factor, catching one pass for 9 yards before leaving with an injury, but Joe Callahan spread the ball around to a total of 10 receivers, including Jeremiah Howe, who caught the game-winner.

The win kept Wesley unbeaten heading into next week's showdown with No. 4 Mary Hardin-Baylor, which led just 3-0 at the half but found itself after halftime in defeating Kean 34-7.

Tenth-ranked UW-Oshkosh defeated the defending NAIA national champion, beating Marian (Ind.) 34-13. The Titans sacked Knights quarterback Joey Hecklinski six times. Nick Olla was picked off three times for Oshkosh but Cole Myhra had 121 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in the win.

No. 3 Linfield scored early and often, as Charlie Poppen opened scoring with an 84-yard touchdown catch and the Wildcats raced past Hardin-Simmons 71-21. Josh Yoder completed 23 of 33 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 54 and a score as well in the win.

Sixth-ranked North Central set a school record with 674 yards of total offense as the Cardinals rolled past UW-La Crosse 41-24 in the Cardinals' season opener. Spencer Stanek passed for 330 yards and a touchdown and ran for 106 and two more scores in the victory. D3report from game.

Dalton Ritchey threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as No. 12 Pacific Lutheran won at No. 18 Cal Lutheran, 31-34. Ritchey found tight end Lucas Sontra for a 7-yard touchdown pass to take the lead with 3:48 left in the game and PLU's defense forced two three-and-outs to end the game. Cameron Deen, Cal Lutheran's transfer quarterback, was 14-for-23 for 140 yards and a touchdown and was picked off once.

Tyler Fenti threw for a school-record 453 yards and four touchdowns as No. 19 St. John Fisher defeated Washington and Jefferson 42-21. The Presidents' Alex Baroffio did catch 13 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown to become the leading receiver in W&J history.

Seth Klein completed 40 of 51 passes for 392 yards, including 13 for 120 yards and a touchdown to Anthony Davis in a 35-28 win for No. 25 Widener against Lebanon Valley. Klein hit 10 receivers in the win but the Pride had to hold on as Lebanon Valley cut the lead to seven with 1:30 left. Widener covered an onside kick and ran most of the remaining time off the clock for the victory.

Delon Pettiford scored on a blocked punt and interception return in his collegiate debut and sophomore Michael Putko excelled in his first collegiate start as No. 20 Wabash cruised past Hanover 69-0. Putko went 12-for-15 passing for 129 yards and two touchdowns. He also added a third touchdown running.

Erik Peterson completed 25 of 36 passes for 311 yards, finding nine receivers in No. 8 Bethel's 30-17 win against Wartburg. Logan Schrader threw two TDs for the Knights, one with 2:04 left to make the score respectable.

Trine rode three Tyler Keck field goals and picked off Elmhurst quarterback Jo Camiliere four times en route to handing the No. 21 Bluejays a 16-7 loss. J.D. Abbott ran for 125 yards and Robbie Matey threw for a touchdown and added two more as Johns Hopkins defeated Susquehana 24-7. The Crusaders were held to just 122 yards, 32 of them on the ground.
