receiving votes" in the D3football.com Top 25

Frostburg State rallied from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime, then blocked an extra-point attempt in the second extra session to hand Ithaca its second consecutive loss, 38-37.
After Vito Boffoli scored on a 4-yard TD to open the second overtime, Frostburg senior Keith Smith blocked the ensuing extra point attempt, keeping Ithaca's lead at 38-37. Ben Sasu dove over the top from 1 yard out and Isaac Robinson hit the PAT to touch off the celebration in Frostburg, Md.
"This win gives our players something to believe in and lets them know that what our coaching staff is teaching works," said first-year coach DeLane Fitzgerald. "I expect to build off of this win and continue to get better each week."
Ithaca was still ranked in the AFCA poll, at No. 25. Frostburg has never beaten a team ranked in the D3football.com Top 25.
Down 31-7 in the fourth quarter, Hanover struck quickly, scoring 28 points in a little under six minutes to take a 35-31 lead. But Anderson didn't roll over, as DeOnt Alexander returned the ensuing kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown to give the Ravens a 37-35 lead, which they would never relinquish.
Rowan kept Lemar Johnson in check, holding him to 177 total yards and Morrisville State to just 227 yards of total offense and reining in the Mustangs 31-0. Rowan improved to 4-2 and gave Jay Accorsi his 100th career win.
Juniata exploded for 24 points in the second quarter and went on to hand Ursinus its first loss of the season, defeating the Bears 38-10. Ward Udinski threw for 251 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another 61 yards and a score in the win.
Michael Mercadante rushed for 228 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Westfield State to a 32-16 win vs. Massachusetts Maritime. Westfield improved to 4-2, 3-1 MASCAC. Union fell to 0-6 for the first time since 1958, as the Dutchmen were grounded 36-14 by Western New England. The Golden Bears improved to 6-0.
Hendrix was missing Seth Peters due to injury for the second consecutive week and it showed as Berry rolled past the Warriors 46-24 in a battle of second-year programs.
Washington and Lee picked off Randolph-Macon quareterback Zac Naccarato three times and four players rushed for between 50 and 88 yards as the Generals won 28-25 for their first win of the season. Macon scored and added a two-point conversion with 1:44 left to cut the lead to three and got the ball back but John Carrick picked off Naccarato for the final time with 0:38 left to seal the win. A week after handing Guilford its first loss of the season, Shenandoah matched its 2013 win total, defeating Catholic 24-14.
Peter Williams tied a program record with five touchdown passes and MIT improved to 5-0 with a 52-20 win vs. Nichols, continuing the best start in the modern history of the program. RPI had the ball on the Rochester 3-yard line trailing 27-20 in the final minute, but Colin Woods sacked the Engineers' quarterback and Matt Pisano returned the fumble 87 yards for a touchdown to seal the game.
Augustana compiled just 235 yards of total offense but it was enough to survive, winning at Illinois Wesleyan 7-2. The Titans' only score was on a safety when sophomore linebacker Sean Garvey made a tackle in the Viking end zone with 6:24 to play in the game.
Northwestern overcame a five-game curse, coming back from a 21-7 deficit to defeat Greenville 35-28. After getting run over in the first half, the Eagles kept the Panthers off the scoreboard throughout the final 30 minutes. The victory for Northwestern snapped a string of five fourth-quarter losses to the Panthers since 2009.
