Trinity (Conn.) saw its 53-game home winning streak come to an emphatic end. Middlebury's Matt Milano completed 25 of 36 passes for four touchdowns and the Panthers held the Bantams off the scoreboard for the first 43 minutes of the game and went on to win 27-7.

Trinity, which only plays eight games a season and just four home games, last lost a contest at home on Sept. 29, 2001, to Williams. Mount Union won its 80th consecutive home game on Saturday, leading Division III football.

Western New England rallied from an early 21-0 deficit, and appeared to score the game-tying touchdown in the final minute at MIT, but Anthony Emberly blocked the extra point and the Engineers prevailed, 35-34, in the battle of 6-0 teams. MIT's win sets up a showdown at Endicott next week for control of the NEFC.

Montclair State scored two second-half touchdowns and the defense made three fourth-quarter stops as the Red Hawks took over first place in the New Jersey Athletic Conference by defeating Rowan 20-16.

Nate Eaton and Jalen Dinard each had more than 100 receiving yards and Brendon Carr scored on a 2-yard touchdown run with 1:45 remaining in the game as Hiram won its second in a row and fourth game of the season, defeating Ohio Wesleyan 35-34. It's the first time Hiram has won four games since 1995.

Anthony Emberley blocked an extra point attempt with 42 seconds left to lift MIT to a 35-34 win over Western New England in a battle of unbeatens in the New England Football Conference. MIT scored the first 21 points and held on in the offensive shootout.

Known for its passing game, instead Methodist turned to the ground attack on Saturday as three players rushed for more than 100 yards to lift the Monarchs past N.C. Wesleyan 42-39 in double overtime. Cody Ausherman hit a field goal at the end of regulation to force overtime, then hit one in each overtime as well.

Centre improved to 7-0 and moved into sole possession of first place in the SAA, defeating Rhodes 47-37. Heath Haden accounted for five touchdowns, four of them on the ground, in the win for the Colonels. Carroll and Macalester each remained on track for their first-place showdown in the Midwest Conference's North Division next week, as Carroll rolled over Ripon 48-14 and Macalester shut out Lawrence 33-0. It's Carroll's best start since 1936.

Matt Pawlowski threw two touchdowns and Josh Schow ran for two in Guilford's 28-6 win at Randolph-Macon. At 6-1, Guilford is off to its best start to the season since 1994.

Utica scored 24 unanswered points in the first half and recovered three key Buffalo State fumbles as the Pioneers snapped a three game skid with a 31-21 road victory. Ithaca limited Salisbury to 141 yards of total offense and just 74 yards on the ground in defeating the Sea Gulls 32-7, meaning St. John Fisher is alone in first place in the Empire 8.

North Park won for the first time this season as TD Conway threw four TDs and was picked off just once in a 26-7 win vs. Millikin. North Park won three CCIW games last season, breaking a losing streak of more than a decade.
