Millikin athletics announced on Sunday that Carlton Hall has been released from his position as the Big Blue head football coach effective immediately.

Millikin is 0-7 on the season and has lost 17 games in a row. In three years under Hall's direction, Millikin has a record of 4-23. On Saturday, Carthage got its first win of the season, as the Firebirds came to Millikin and defeated the Big Blue 24-20 on a touchdown with 53 seconds left in the game.

Assistant athletic director/assistant football coach Patrick Allgeier will serve as Millikin's interim head coach for the final three games of the 2024 season. Allgeier will direct Millikin's recruiting efforts as well. Allgeier is a 28-year veteran of the Millikin athletics staff.

The search for a new Millikin head football coach will begin in earnest at the end of the season.
