Maurice Banks, who had been head football coach at Gettysburg since 2020, was let go this week. He was just the ninth head coach at the school since 1919.
In five seasons as the head coach of the Bullets, Banks compiled a career record of 7-43, winning two games in 2023 and 2024, one game each of the other seasons. (Gettysburg did not play any games during the COVID season.) The Bullets beat McDaniel this past week to finish 1-9 on the season.
He came to the school after having been an assistant coach at the University of Pennsylvania, an Ivy League school in Division I FCS. He also previously coached in the Patriot League and other levels of football.
Gettysburg was his first Division III job.
The school did not announce his departure, but has removed his name from the department coaching directory.
