Cornelius Coleman, head football coach at Waynesburg since 2022, has been dismissed from his job, according to local media reports.

The school removed Coleman from the athletics website, but delined to provide a statement when contacted by D3football.com.

Over the past four seasons, the Yellowjackets have finished 4-6 three times. Waynesburg has gone 14-26 in that time.

“I felt we were competitive in a lot of situations but it’s tough to win games," Coleman told the Observer-Reporter. "It is hard to win games. Everybody practices. Everybody prepares and you know, unfortunately, I could not guide the young men to one of those keynote victories. We just were never able to get over the hump and that’s on me. Not being able to deliver them in that space, I take full blame for it.”
