DOVER, Del. -- After trailing 10-0 at the half, 16th-ranked Frostburg State exploded for 42-second half points to defeat Wesley 42-17 in an Atlantic Central Football conference game.

Things couldn't have gotten much worse for the No. 16 Bobcats in the first half, as the Wesley defense held the Frostburg State offense to just 12 yards and zero first downs. Wesley had totaled 285 yards of offense but was only able to score ten points.

Craig Hopkins capped a six-play 45-yard drive with a eight-yard scoring run to pull the Bobcats to within 10-7 with 6:39 remaining in the third quarter. Hopkins led Frostburg State (5-0, 3-0) with 131 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the day.

Frostburg took the lead for good with 2:03 left in the third when quarterback Jason Henry evaded the Wesley rush to find tight end Martin Mood, who slipped a tackler and raced 77 yards for a touchdown. Mood led Bobcat receivers with 119 yards on five catches, while Henry completed 12 of 25 passes for 186 yards with two touchdowns.

Following a fumble on the next kickoff, Henry found split end Greg Cooper on a 20-yard scoring pass to extend the lead to 21-10. Hopkins took over from there, scoring on runs of 18, 31 and 10 yards. He tied a school record with four rushing touchdowns.

Wesley (2-3, 1-1) scored first in the game on a nine-yard scoring run by Robert Carrouthers with 53 seconds remaining in the first quarter. The run capped a seven-play, 57-yard drive. Carrouthers rushed for 55 yards on just six carries.

Chris Becker's 30-yard field goal with 7:18 to play gave the Wolverines a 10-0 halftime cushion. Wesley quarterback Jason Visconti found Vandrick Hamlin on an 8-yard scoring pass with 11:29 left in the fourth quarter pulled Wesley to within 28-17, before Hopkins' final two touchdowns sealed the game. Visconti completed 21 of 46 passes for 246 yards on the day. Hamlin led Wolverine receivers with six catches for 68 yards.
