MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Hiram College football team totaled 541 yards of offense in a 43-13 road win at Allegheny (Pa.) on Saturday.

The Terriers are now 2-6 on the season and 2-5 in the NCAC, while the Gators drop to 0-8, 0-7.

The 43 points are the most for Hiram since 2009, when they scored 45 points in a victory over Kenyon.

Junior Nic Paolo (Chardon, Ohio/Harding) threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns, both of which are new career-bests. He also posted his first career rushing touchdown.

Sophomore Danny Robinson (Labelle, Fla./Labelle) carried 19 times for 120 yards and two scores.

Senior Britton Lewis (Tampa, Fla./Paul R. Wharton) had four catches for 99 yards and two touchdowns, while senior Jaylen Dinard (Tampa, Fla./Paul R. Wharton) finished with four receptions for 77 yards.

The Hiram defense was just as dominant, limiting Allegheny to 167 yards of total offense and 10 first downs.

Junior Kyle Burchett (Fairport Harbor, Ohio/Harding) led the Terrier defense registering 14 tackles, with 3.5 coming for a loss and forcing a fumble. Senior Tevin Weaver (Garfield Heights, Ohio/Garfield Heights) and sophomoreDillon Walsh (Wyandotte, Mich./Roosevelt) each had interceptions.

Hiram got things going right away, with freshman Luther Fortson (Kent, Ohio/Theodore Roosevelt) returning the opening kickoff 61 yards to give the Terriers great field position. It took Hiram five plays to find the endzone, with Robinson scoring from four-yards out to give the Terriers an early 6-0 lead.

Allegheny would go three and out on its first possession and the Terriers marched 90 yards on nine plays, capped off on a 42-yard touchdown strike from Paolo to Lewis to make the score 13-0.

Hiram expanded its lead at the 12:54 mark of the second quarter, on a 50-yard touchdown pass from Paolo to sophomore Akili Tate (Los Angeles, Calif./Juniperro Serra).

The Gators would get on the board midway through the second quarter, but the Terriers responded with a 12-play, 69-yard drive that culminated with a Lewis eight-yard touchdown reception to give Hiram a 26-6 lead at the break.

Allegheny was held to another three and out to begin the second half and Robinson scored from five yards out on Hiram's first possession to make the score 33-6.

Paolo would make it 40-6 in favor of the Terriers when he scored from one-yard out with 6:14 left in the third quarter.

The Gators would get a touchdown late in the third quarter and sophomore Sam Conway (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) would close out the scoring with a 33-yard field goal with 6:03 remaining in the game.

The Terriers converted 11-of-18 (61 percent) of third downs, while Allegheny was just 3-of-13 (23 percent).

Hiram will play next on November 7, when they host Wooster at 1 p.m. in the home finale. The Terriers will also honor their seniors before the contest.
