The Series: The Buccaneers and Blueboys are meeting for the 23rd time in a series IC leads 12-10.  The teams have not met since the 2013 season, when Illinois Col. posted a 37-7 win at Strong Stadium.  The Blueboys have won seven of the last eight in the series, with the lone Beloit win in that streak coming in 2010, 42-27 in Beloit.  Two of the last three and three of the last six Buc wins in the series came in Jacksonville.  The programs first met October 23, 1976, at Strong Stadium, a 10-7 Beloit win in…

Bucs Most Recent Game:  Beloit came up just short last Saturday at Strong Stadium, falling 21-14 to Macalester College.  The Scots scored a TD in both the third and fourth quarters while the Bucs were stopped short of the end zone in the third before scor …

Bucs' Last Time vs. the Blueboys: The Beloit College Football team had a tough time getting anything going against a multi-talented Illinois College squad on October 19, 2013, at Strong Stadium on the way to a 37-7 loss.  The Buccaneer defense shut down the Blueboys' first two drives but IC broke through with 5:20 left in the opening quarter for the first score of the game.  They added a second TD late in the period to lead 14-0 after one.  Two touchdowns and a safety in the second quarter made it a 30-0 game at the break.  Neither team scored in the third quarter before each added a TD in the final stanza.  After Illinois College made it 37-0 with 4:45 left the Bucs got on the board when Lukeson Versulien, who got the drive going with a 40-yard kickoff return, took an end-around eight yards for a TD with 3:04 left to complete a six-play, 47-yard drive.  IC then ran out the remaining time for the win.  The Blueboys won the yardage battle 580-126.  Mason Dixon had 65 yards rushing on 15 carries while Kam Sallee threw for 62 yards.  Jake Lackovic caught a pair of passes for 52 yards, including a key 17-yard grab during Beloit's TD drive.  On defense David Lafayette and Riley Pearson each finished with ten tackles while Jake Fisher had nine.  Derell Carter had the lone sack of the game for a loss of six yards and also recovered a fumble...

Notes & Notables:  Six outgoing Buccaneer Football seniors have reached or are within reach of Beloit career records/milestones as they get set for their final game at IC…Kam Sallee has already set a new standard for made field goals, which stands at 27, and point-afters, which total 104…Mason Dixon 265 rushing yards for his fourth straight 1,000-yard season and just two yards to hit the 4,400-yard career plateau.  He and his father, Steve (1990-93), are assured of finishing 1-2 in career rushing yards, carries and rushing touchdowns (with Dad #1 in all three categories)…Mike Nolden needs eight receptions to pass Derek Carrier (2008-11) in that career category.  He also needs 17 receiving yards to become just the third Buccaneer to reach 2,500 on that list.  He already holds the career mark for receiving TDs with 30 going into his final game…Danny May needs 124 passing yards for a second straight 2,000-yard season.  He currently stands fifth in career passing yards with 3,964 and is tied for fourth in passing touchdowns with 34…Riley Pearson went over the 250-career tackle mark against Monmouth and has 16.0 career sacks entering Saturday's game…David Lafayette has 212 career tackles going into his final game as a Buccaneer…

Up Ahead for the Bucs:  The 2017 season, which begins on Saturday, September 2, against Lake Forest College at Strong Stadium.  The Buccaneers have four home games on the schedule for next season.  Their lone non-MWC opponent date is a trip to the University of Chicago on October 21…
