MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Fresh off one of the greatest seasons in program history, the honors continue to roll in for the Johns Hopkins football team as three players have been named to the 2024 D3football.com All-America Team.  Junior defensive back Carson Bourdo earned a spot on the second team, while junior offensive lineman Michael Nwosu and senior defensive end Matthew Konkol were named to the fourth team.
 
This the fourth consecutive year that Johns Hopkins has placed at least three players on the D3football.com All-America Team.
 
Bourdo grabs his second All-America nod of the 2024 season after previously being named a First Team Associated Press All-American. He finished third on the team in tackles with a career-high 66 and counted 5.5 tackles for loss and one sack among his 66 tackles.  He also led the team with four interceptions and also had seven pass breakups and one fumble recovery to his credit.
 
Nwosu is a repeat Fourth Team D3football.com All-America selection after grabbing the same honor in 2023.  Also a First Team All-Centennial and First Team D3football.com All-Region selection this season, he started all 14 games and anchored an offensive line that saw eight different players start at least one game; the Blue Jays started the same offensive line combination in consecutive games just once in the final six games of the year and, out of necessity, Nwosu made the move from guard to tackle midway through the season.
 
Still, with Nwosu leading the way, the Blue Jays averaged 23.6 points and 361 yards per game and struck for 37 points and 531 yards of total offense against Mount Union in the NCAA Semifinals.  With Nwosu's selection to the team, Johns Hopkins has had at least one offensive lineman earn All-America honors in 10 of the last 12 seasons.
 
The Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All-Centennial and First Team D3football.com All-Region selection this season, Konkol earns the first All-America honor of his career.  He finished the 2024 season with 54 tackles and paced the team in tackles for loss (13.0) and sacks (8.5) while adding six pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.  He finished his career with 103 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 18 sacks to his credit.  He ranks ninth in school history in career sacks and tied for ninth in tackles for loss.
 
Johns Hopkins posted a 12-2 record, won the Centennial Conference title for a record 17^th time and advanced to the NCAA Semifinals for the second time in program history in 2024.  The 12 wins tied the program record for wins in a season and Johns Hopkins is one of just two teams in the nation to win 12 or more games in each of the last two seasons (North Central).
