If you're a young program, trying to establish itself in Division III and taking on a one-time Division III power, you might need to pull out all the stops. And for Southwestern University punter A.J. Daniels, that meant throwing a jump pass to Nik Kelly, one he took 74 yards for a touchdown. It's the D3football.com Play of the Week.

Here are some great plays which deserved extra mention:


Mike Williams ran for three touchdowns on Saturday, but none was as spectacular or timely as this one, an 11-yard scramble and leap into the end zone in overtime in Mount St. Joseph's win vs. Rose-Hulman.

Later in the same game as our Play of the Week, Trinity has battled back to take the lead and Jayden Holden made a diving catch of a pass from Austin Grauer, keeping his hand underneath it even as he went to the ground at the 2-yard line. The Tigers scored one play later, a touchdown Trinity would later need in a 27-19 win.

You've probably seen this play already but we have two angles for you in one video. This is the behind-the-back pass St. Thomas threw for a two-point conversion on its first touchdown of the game vs. Carleton.


Leaving a live ball on the 1-yard line? Not so smart. Picking it up and running it back for a touchdown to take the lead with a minute left to play? Much smarter. That's how Alex Domond did it for WPI.
