September 21, 2019 Carnegie Mellon upsets No. 12 W&J, 20-13, in PAC showdown The Carnegie Mellon University football team opened its home slate hosting 12th-ranked Washington and Jefferson on Saturday in a Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown and defeated the Presidents 20-13. The win marks the highest ever over a ranked opponent for the Tartans since D3football.com started a Top 25 poll in 2003. Carnegie Mellon is 3-0 and 2-0 in PAC play while W&J moves to 2-1, 1-1. The win marked the Tartans third straight to open their home schedule.
September 14, 2019 Carnegie Mellon Tops Geneva 31-6 in Seventh Annual PAC Kickoff Classic The Carnegie Mellon University football team traveled to Beaver Falls on Saturday night for the Seventh Annual Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Kickoff Classic against Geneva College. The Tartans walked out of Reeves Field with a 31-6 victory to start the season 2-0, 1-0, while the Golden Tornadoes are now 0-2, 0-1.
September 7, 2019 Tartans Score 24 Unanswered Points to Win Opener in Showdown With MIT The Carnegie Mellon University football team opened its season at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Saturday and scored 24 unanswered points and left with a 24-7 win. The matchup was the first between the two institutions.
December 13, 2018 Four Carnegie Mellon Players Named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-America Four Carnegie Mellon University football athletes were honored with selections to the 2018 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Football Team. Three were named to the first team with one to the second team, as junior defensive lineman Michael Lohmeier (Clarendon Hills, Ill./Hinsdale Central) is a repeat honoree.
November 10, 2018 Carnegie Mellon Wins 33rd Academic Bowl with 29-23 OT Victory at No. 19 Case Western Reserve; Haas Runs for Career-High The Carnegie Mellon University football team traveled to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) and University Athletic Association (UAA) rival Case Western Reserve University for the 33rd Annual Academic Bowl on Saturday. The Tartans won a thrilling overtime contest over the 19th-ranked Spartans, 29-23, and the UAA championship. The Association title marks the 11th in program history. The contest counts towards both the PAC and UAA standings. Carnegie Mellon is now 5-4 overall and 4-4 in PAC play while the Spartans end their season with a record of 8-2, 7-2.
October 29, 2018 Carnegie Mellon Senior Day Football Game Rescheduled for November 17th Against Geneva Carnegie Mellon University’s football game against Geneva College has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 17. Kick is set for 1:00 p.m. on the turf at Gesling Stadium on the campus of Carnegie Mellon. Prior to the start of the game, Senior Day recognition and festivities will take place.
