Freshman quarterback Collin Fiutko (two rushing, two passing) and defensive end-turned-running back Chris Smith (three rushing) combined for all seven Fisher touchdowns, as the Cardinals, ranked No. 14 in the D3football.com poll, outscored Morrisville 28-3 after the game was tied at 21s early in the second half.

    In a matchup between two top 25 teams, nationally-ranked St. John Fisher College held on for a 31-24 win at No. 15 SUNY Cortland on Saturday in front of 3,589 fans at Red Dragon Stadium. With the win, Fisher ranked No. 21 in the latest D3football.com national poll, improves to 3-0 overall, but more importantly 1-0 in the Empire 8 Conference, while the Red Dragons fall to 2-1, 0-1. Last year, Fisher and Cortland went 6-2 and were crowned Empire 8 Co-Champions, but the Red Dragons earned the automatic bid to NCAAs, thanks to their 34-17 win at Fisher in week 3.

Fisher, ranked 15th nationally, racked up a season-high 583 yards of total offense in the win and can now clinch the Empire 8 Conference title with a win next Saturday at 1 p.m. at home against Ithaca College (6-2, 5-2).
