November 17, 2018 Cortland's Kyle Richard First-Ever D3 Nominee for Orange Bowl Courage Award The heroism of SUNY Cortland senior Kyle Richard has been recognized by yet another national organization. Richard, who was shot twice after breaking up a sexual assault in progress during the summer of 2017 and returned to captain Cortland's football team the past two seasons, was nominated for the Capital One Orange Bowl-Football Writers Association of America Courage Award on Nov. 15.
November 12, 2018 Cortland Football Season Closes After Cancellation of New York Bowl The Empire 8 Conference has announced that the 2018 New York State Bowl will not be held. The annual game, which features a representative from the E8 and the Liberty League, was scheduled to take place this Saturday, Nov. 17, at Cortland since it was the E8's turn to host.

November 7, 2018 Cortaca 2019 moves to MetLife, eyes attendance mark The Cortaca Jug game, featuring Ithaca and Cortland, will be played in East Rutherford, New Jersey, in 2019. The stated goal is to take down the Division III football single-game attendance record of 37,355 set last season.
November 7, 2018 Cortland Football Game Notes vs. Ithaca - 60th Cortaca Jug Game (Nov. 10 at Cortland) Cortland hosts Ithaca in the annual Cortaca Jug rivalry game - one of the country's top Division III games each year and once referred to as "The Biggest Little Game in the Nation" by Sports Illustrated. This is the 60th time that Cortland and Ithaca are playing for the Cortaca Jug. The schools actually started playing in 1930 and have met every year since 1948.
November 3, 2018 Cortland Comes Up Just Short in Upset Bid at #3 Brockport, 21-16 BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Brockport's Rashad Baker intercepted four passes, the last of which came in the end zone with less than 10 seconds remaining, as the nationally third-ranked and unbeaten Golden Eagles held on to defeat visiting Cortland, 21-16, to claim the Empire 8 title.
