    Visiting Brockport showed why it is the fourth-ranked team in the country on Saturday with a 55-7 defeat of Hartwick football in a game played at Wright Stadium. The Golden Eagles’ defense, which entered the game allowing a national best -5.3 rushing yards per game, made it very difficult for the Hawks on the ground (-37 yards on 27 carries).

    Buffalo State registered 447 yards of offense and forced five Hartwick turnovers as the Bengals defeated the Hawks 41-7 on Saturday in the Empire 8 Conference opener for both teams.
  • Hawks Fall in Shootout at King’s, 65-48
    September 15, 2018
    Hartwick and King’s combined for over 1,000 yards of offense and 100 points on Saturday with the Monarchs coming away with a 65-48 win. The Hawks led 27-23 following an 84-yard touchdown reception from Bryce Macina (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) to Dylan Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Iona Prep) early in the second quarter, but the hosts would score 23 points in the final 6:23 of the half to take the lead for good.
  • Football Powers Past Alfred State, 49-24
    September 08, 2018
    Hartwick scored touchdowns on five of their first six possessions on Saturday on its way to a 49-24 victory over visiting Alfred State. Ronald Ballard (Deposit, NY/Deposit) ran for a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and Bryce Macina (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central) connected with Dylan Mucci (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Iona Prep) for a 73-yard touchdown pass as the Hawks led 21-3 after 15 minutes. Touchdown runs from Davien Kuinlan (Bethpage, NY/Plainedge) and Ballard increased the margin to 35-3 at halftime. The Pioneers inched closer with two straight scores in the third quarter. The Hawks came back in the final quarter as Ballard scored on a 1-yard run and Macina hit Mucci for a 21-yard touchdown to put the game away.
  • Football Topped by Alfred in Season Finale

       ALFRED, NY – Hartwick couldn’t contain a relentless Alfred rushing attack in the final game of the season for both teams on Saturday at Yunevich Stadium. The Saxons prevailed by a final score of 63-21. The Hawks close out their season 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the Empire 8. AU wraps its campaign 7-3 and 5-2 in the league. Alfred accumulated 627 yards of offense, all on the ground, while holding the Hawks to 265 yards on the day. The Saxons would score touchdowns on each of their first three possessions to jump out to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. The Hawks trimmed the gap to 14 points twice in the second quarter, but AU scored at the end of the period and out-scored ’Wick 28-7 in the second half to score the victory.

    ONEONTA, NY – A touchdown pass from Kyle Hoppy to Had Bryant with just 10.4 seconds remaining in the game lifted visiting Buffalo State to a 24-20 victory over Hartwick’s football team on Senior Day on Saturday at Wright Stadium.

    ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick overwhelmed host Alfred State by a final score of 45-0 on Saturday. The Hawks’ offense gained 567 yards on the day while the defense limited the Pioneers to just 77 offensive yards, -18 yards rushing on 21 attempts, and three first downs. Hartwick is now 1-1 on the season while Alfred State slips to 0-2.

    ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick football players Billy Pine (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls HS) and Koree Reed (Baldwinsville, NY/Central Conn. St. Univ.) finished the 2016 season as NCAA Division III Statistical Champions in respective categories, announced by the NCAA this week. The quarterback and wide receiver were key cogs in the Hawks’ high-powered passing offense which ranked in the top 10 in the country.

    ONEONTA, NY – Visiting Utica took the lead with less than 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter and held onto it the rest of the way in a 52-40 win over Hartwick in Empire 8 football on Saturday at Wright Stadium. The Hawks closed the gap to five twice in the fourth quarter but could not get any closer. Utica caps its regular season at 7-3 overall and 5-3 in the Empire 8. The Hawks season ends at 2-8 and 1-7.

    ALFRED, NY – The Alfred Saxons, the top-ranked rushing team in the conference, racked up 445 yards on the ground in a 61-12 victory over Hartwick’s football team on Saturday at Wright Stadium. The loss drops Hartwick to 2-5 overall and 1-4 in the Empire 8 Conference. The Saxons, ranked #17 in the latest D3football.com poll and #21 in the NFCA poll, improve to 7-0 and 5-0. They finished the day with 534 yards of offense.
