September 21, 2019 No. 22 Ithaca Stifles Alfred in 27-9 Home Victory ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 22 Ithaca College team ran its record to 2-0 on the early season as the Bombers used 27 unanswered points to secure a comfortable 27-9 victory over visiting Alfred University on Saturday, September 21 at Butterfield Stadium. The home-opening victory marks the 40th win over the Saxons in 60 all-time meetings dating back to 1933.
September 19, 2019 No. 22 Ithaca Welcomes Alfred to Butterfield Stadium on Saturday ITHACA, N.Y. – The nationally ranked No. 22 Ithaca College football team makes its long-awaited return to Butterfield Stadium for the 2019 season as the Bombers open their home schedule against Alfred University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Ithaca (1-0) and Alfred (2-0), former Empire 8 Conference foes, will square off for the 60th all-time meeting this weekend.
September 10, 2019 Smith’s Two Blocked Punts Earns D3football.com Team of the Week Honors ITHACA, N.Y. – D3football.com released its first Team of the Week for the 2019 season on Monday evening, September 7 and Ithaca College senior Kyle Smith was recognized as a special team performer for his role in IC’s 66-28 season-opening win at Saint Vincent last Saturday. This is the 21st season in which D3football.com has selected a Team of the Week, which honors the top player nationally at each position.
September 7, 2019 Ithaca Rolls Past Saint Vincent, 66-28, In 2019 Season Opener LATROBE, Pa. – The Ithaca College football team started off the 2019 season in impressive fashion, as the Bombers took down Saint Vincent College, 66-28, at Chuck Noll Field on Saturday afternoon, September 7. The Bombers have now started a season 1-0 in 21 of the past 22 seasons. The 66 points scored are also the most points IC as put up in an opener since IC defeated Mansfield, 59-23, in 1996.
September 5, 2019 Expectations Are Once Again High for Ithaca Football in 2019 ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College football program will kick off its 87th season this weekend, September 7, at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa. in what is expected to be another exciting season on South Hill. The Bombers, who are coming off back-to-back 8-3 seasons and consecutive Liberty League regular season co-championships under third year head coach, are “receiving votes” in the D3football.com Top 25 Preseason Poll and nationally ranked by two other media outlets – No. 15 by Street & Smith’s and 25th from College Football America Yearbook.
April 18, 2019 Five Ithaca Football Players Named to NFF Hampshire Honor Society IRVING, Texas - The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame announced the members of the 2019 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers, on April 10. An all-time high of 1,643 players from a record 424 schools qualified for membership in the society’s 13th year.
