Bulldog Football Players Swedlow, Nicolini, and Selway Garner D3PRODAY.COM All-America Nods

More news about: Redlands

It was announced late last week that three University of Redlands football players gained All-America honors through D3PRODAY.COM, the first and only national pro day and combine for Division III players. Running back Daylan Swedlow (Lake Arrowhead, CA), defensive back Mike Nicolini (Novato, CA) and quarterback Dan Selway (Villa Park, CA) represent the Bulldogs among this senior-only list of honorees.

Swedlow lands on the Second Team after a solid career with the Maroon and Gray. This season, he served as one of the team's top ball carriers, racking up 304 rushing yards on 91 attempts. He enjoyed a breakout campaign as a junior by amassing 607 rushing yards on 140 carries. During that span, Swedlow scored six touchdowns for Redlands, including an 18-point effort against Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Oct. 31, 2009.

Nicolini wraps up an already illustrious career with a Third-Team nod as an integral defensive back and return specialist for the Bulldogs. During Redlands' 8-1 campaign, he provided the second-most tackles among the Bulldogs with 61, highlighted by a team-leading 11.5 for a loss of 50 yards. He also broke up eight passes and made two interceptions, one of which he returned for a pick-six play. He also tallied 296 yards on 25 punt returns, including a 58-yarder for the score. He also made 10 kick returns for 273 yards.

Selway garners a Fourth-Team honor after finishing out an impressive yet injury-challenged career at Redlands. As this season's top play-caller, he racked up 1,881 passing yards to go along with 20 touchdowns. He found 14 receivers on three or more occasions, revealing his versatility and vision of the field. While scrambling for 92 yards on the season, he erupted for his only rushing touchdown of 2010 during the Bulldogs' recent 21-17 victory over Chapman University. Overall, he boasts an efficiency rating of 131.85 to complement his completion percentage of 61.3.

According to the announcement made by D3PRODAY.COM, the organization was created by NFL, CFL, and NBA agents to showcase the skills and talents of Division III players. D3PRODAY.COM is a division of East Preps LLC.
