WASHINGTON – The NCAA recently released its final 2011 national football statistics and CUA ranks fourth in America in passing offense.  The Cardinals averaged 328.2 passing yards per game, ranking behind McMurry, Hampden-Sydney and Monmouth.

CUA eclipsed the 300-yard mark in passing offense seven times this past season, including a high of 459 in a win at McDaniel in the opener.  The Cardinals also put up 400 yards of passing offense in a win over Emory and Henry in late October.

In addition to CUA's team ranking, junior quarterback Greg Cordivari finished seventh nationally in total offense, averaging 315.5 yards per contest.

An All-Conference selection, Cordivari etched his name in the CUA record book in 2011, establishing new school records for completions (321) and attempts (505), while also setting the school record for single game completions (46) and attempts (67).  Cordivari's 3,282 yards rank second best in school annals, while his 25 touchdown passes and 63.6 completion percentage are third best.

Cordivari leads a strong contingent of Cardinals that will return next season to form a potent CUA offense.  In addition to its signal caller, CUA will bring back receivers Andrew Ouellette (54 receptions, 661 yards), Alonzo Cooke (539 yards, 5 touchdowns), Tanner Keefe (32 receptions, 16.3 average per reception) and Jeff Frusciante (25 receptions, 3 touchdowns), as well as tailbacks Mike Pitsenberger (654 rushing yards, 6 touchdowns) and Nick Cortese (4.1 yards per rush attempt).  The Cardinals also bring back a pair of All-ODAC offensive linemen in Mike O'Shea and Kody Jones.
